Medina Valley track teams going to Area with a good feeling

A few weeks ago, at the district track meet, JV boys, Varsity boys, JV girls, and Varsity girls all placed 1st. Varsity girls earned a total team score of 265 points. JV boys earned a team total of 232 points, and Varsity boys earned 143 points. 

The teams did well all together, as well as individuals. Macy Livingston came first in both the 3200 meter run and the 1600 meter run;, Paiten Trowbridge in the 800 meter, and Madalyn Aldridge in the 400 meter. Coming in first place for high jump was Emily Hecker.  Setting a new school record was Haylee Hurtado with 100 hurdles, and the first place spot for long jump went to Kaylyn Persyn. 

Participating and placing first in the 4×100 relay was Isabelle Davis, Jahnae McCain, Ellie Austin, and Tunasia Gulatt. Participating and placing first place in the 4×200 was Ileana Morales, Elia Evans, Haylee Hurtado, and Jahnae McCain, and participating and placing first in the 4×400 relay was Ileana Morales, Paetyn Ellis, Paiten Trowbridge, and Madalyn Aldridge.

  • Kaylyn Persyn–long jump, 100 hurdles, 200

  • Essence Cummings–shot put, 300 hurdles
  • Ileana Morales–4×200, 4×400
  • Elia Evans–4×200, 100
  • Ellie Austin–4×100
  • Isabelle Davis–4×100
  • Tunasia Gulatt–4×100
  • Paiten Trowbridge–800, 4×400
  • Jahnae McCain–4×100, 4×200, 200
  • Paetyn Ellis–400, 4×400. 

JV boys finished with a total score of 232 points, and varsity boys finished with a total of 143 points. 

District Champs included Timothy Teague in 800 and 1600, Cristian Romo in high jump  and 110 hurdles, the 4×100 team (Bobby Peterson, Damian Loy, Michael Tomaselli, and Kaeden Monday), the 4×200 team (Peterson, Iverson McCary, Noah Raygosa, and Kyle Saulter), Nathan Weiblen in pole vault, and Iverson McCray in triple jump.

Out of all the boys participating, 21 qualified for area.

Area was held on April 15th at San Antonio ISD.
