Exploring London’s high-society in its grandeur and drama, Netflix’s newest original show, Bridgerton, has taken the world by storm. In such a small season, only 8 episodes, the audience manages to get swept off into a world of scandal, love, and plenty of pretty dresses. Following the “diamond” of the season, Daphne, we encounter a wide variety of characters, all who manage to leave an impression. The story also explores intense topics such as gender and familial pressure, both very historically accurate and currently accurate social issues that many people face.
I highly enjoyed the show. If you are anything like me and love watching people twirl around ball rooms while Ariana Grande’s 7 Rings is played by a string quartet, you might really enjoy Bridgerton. And if not, it is still a good show to go watch with your best friends with a tub of ice cream.
